The girls varsity basketball team lost to Newberry this afternoon 69-49 in the 3A Upper-State Championship. Anne Leroy led the Bobcats with 16 points and Keyia Goodine was second with 11. This afternoon’s game makes an end to a spectacular run for the Girls’ season, with an overall record of 19-8, going 8-0 in the region to become Region Champions. Anne Leroy, on the game tonight, said “It was a tough night. We had a great season and did things people did not expect us to do. I’m beyond proud of this team.”  The Bobcats will graduate 5 seniors this year: Addie Pate, Kielyn Hoover, Keyia Goodine, Keuana Mapp, and Tiana Jones. Congratulations to our Girls Basketball on a great season!
