Game Recap

The Bobcats got off to a slow start Tuesday night in the first game of their District 1 playoff matchup with Berea. After 3 scoreless innings, they headed to the bottom of the 4th down 1-0. In that inning, Seneca plated 3 runs on a RBI single from Coleman Smith, a Berea error, and a RBI single from Riley Fletcher. Berea fought back in the top of the fifth, and tied the game at 3, however it was all Bobcats from there. The scored 6 runs in the 5th, and 4 in the 6th to end the game one inning early, and defeat Berea 13-3. Riley Fletcher led the Bobcat attack with a 3-4 night at the plate with one double and 4 RBIs. Matthew Burgess, Jack Fassino, Petey Ridley, Walker Lathrop, Coleman Smith, and Trey Hawk all had two hits on the night.

Tristen Hudson started the game for Seneca on the mound, going 5 innings, and only giving up 2 earned runs on 2 hits with 8 strikeouts. Bryson Whaley gave a strong inning of work for the Bobcats in the 6th. Whaley struckout 2 and gave up 2 hits, but left the bases loaded, and did not allow a run.

Seneca will return to action in game two of the District 1 playoff bracket, on Thursday, April 27 as it hosts Chapman. Game time is TBD
