The top half of the lineup carried the Bobcats to a 6-4 victory Friday night over Westside. The first 5 hitters in the order, Coleman Smith, Walker Lathrop, Tristen Hudson, Jack Fassino and Petey Ridley combined to go 6 for 12 at the plate with 3 walks and 3 RBIs. Junior 3rd baseman, Jack Fassino, got a big 2 RBI single to right center in the bottom of the 3rd which proved to be the difference maker. Starting pitcher, Bryson Whaley gave himself an insurance run, by drawing a bases loaded walk later in the inning to push the score to 6-2. Westside battled back in the top of the 5th, after a HR, error, and a double the score was 6-4. However, the would remain the score, as Coleman Smith came in and shut down Westside in the final 2.2 innings. Smith earned his 3rd save of the season. Whaley earned the win on the mound moving to 3-0 on the year. The Bobcats have almost a full week off before the play again.
