Game Recap

I would like to apologize for not posting this recap. With the excitement of everything that is going on around our program, I just forgot.

Last Wednesday, the Bobcats defeated Mid-Carolina 5-1 in the Upper State Championship. With the win, the Bobcats advanced to the best of 3 State Championship series against the Lower State Champion, Bishop England.

Nerves were a factor early for both teams. Sophomore Ryan Moore, allowed one run in the top of the first after some shaky defense behind, but you could see the boys nerves settle after that first inning. That one run would be the only run Moore would allow, as he threw a complete game 3 hitter. The Bobcat defense settled down behind him after the shaky first, and only made one error the rest of the game.

The Seneca offense made up for their first inning mistakes with two runs of their own in the first, after an RBI single from Jack Fassino, and an error by the Rebels. Those 2 runs would prove to be all the Bobcats needed to seal the victory and advance to the State Championship for the first time since they won it all in 1987.
