Seneca High School
Westside High School
Senior Tristen Hudson put the team on his back to defeat 5A Westside, 1-0, Tuesday night in Anderson. Hudson drove in the only run for the Bobcats, and then dominated the Westside hitters from the mound all night long. The West Virginia signee allowed only 3 Ram hitters to successfully reach base. After walking the leadoff batter of the game, Hudson settled in and did not allow another baserunner until the bottom of the 6th inning. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th, Hudson actually struck out the Westside hitter, but strike 3 got away from the catcher allowing him to reach first. After a couple of very close pick off attempts, a wild pitch allowed the runner to advance to second. The Westside hitter drove the next pitch into right field to end Hudson’s no hit campaign, and threaten the Bobcat lead. However, right-fielder Furman Wilson had other plans, and gunned the runner down at home. Hudson struck out 7 batters on the night, and needed only 69 pitches through his 7 innings of work to pick up the win and move the Bobcats to 16-4 on the year.
Seneca will wrap up regular season play Friday, April 21 as they travel to Carnesville, GA to take on a very good Franklin County team. First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm.
