The Seneca Bobcat Track team hosted the AAA Upper State Qualifying Meet Saturday, May 6th. The Bobcats qualified 4 individual boys in 5 events and one relay, and the girls qualified 3 individual girls in 6 events and one relay.
Carisma Holland will go into the state meet as the defending state champion in the shot put and discus, and Chyna Campbell will enter the high hurdles as the defending champion and will also run the 400 meter hurdles. Joining them in individual events is Kielyn Hoover who qualified in the long jump and high jump. The 4×800 Relay team of Rhylee Wittrock, Dakota Morrow, Catherine Cann and Sariah Stewart qualified, and will run Friday night at 5:30 pm. The rest of the Lady Cats will compete Saturday morning.
The boys’ team qualified Christian Swindle in both the shot put and the discus, Cameron McCutcheon in the high hurdles, Jared Henderson in the 100 meter dash and Elijah Stewart in the 800 meters. The boys’ 4×800 Relay team of Sam Dodd, Riley Hard, James Gibson and Elijah Stewart qualified as well. The boys 4×800 Relay will take place Friday night after the girls, and the rest of the events will be Saturday morning. The State Championships take place at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.
