Game Recap

The top half of the lineup carried the Bobcats to a 6-4 victory Friday night over Westside. The first 5 hitters in the order, Coleman Smith, Walker Lathrop, Tristen Hudson, Jack Fassino and Petey Ridley combined to go 6 for 12 at the plate with 3 walks and 3 RBIs. Junior 3rd baseman, Jack Fassino, got a big 2 RBI single to right center in the bottom of the 3rd which proved to be the difference maker. Starting pitcher, Bryson Whaley gave himself an insurance run, by drawing a bases loaded walk later in the inning to push the score to 6-2. Westside battled back in the top of the 5th, after a HR, error, and a double the score was 6-4. However, the would remain the score, as Coleman Smith came in and shut down Westside in the final 2.2 innings. Smith earned his 3rd save of the season. Whaley earned the win on the mound moving to 3-0 on the year. The Bobcats have almost a full week off before the play again. They will open up region play as they travel to West-Oak next Thursday, March 16th. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30

Game Recap

Senior Tristen Hudson’s dominant effort on the mound was not enough to lead the Bobcats to victory over rival Daniel on Wednesday night in Central. Hudson allowed only 2 hits and 3 walks on the night along with 9 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. The Bobcat offense was stalled by Daniel’s Nick Taylor, and failed to give Hudson the run support he needed. Seneca got on the board first in the top of the 3rd on a a single by Petey Ridley that scored Coleman Smith from 3rd. The Lions tied the game up at 1 after Beau Thompson singled on a line drive up the middle which scored Quade Grisham from 3rd. That hit in the bottom of the 4th was the first hit Hudson had given up. Then with runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs in the bottom of the, Hudson struck out Taylor, but Ridley could not find the ball which he had blocked in front of and allowed the runner to reach first. Hudson walked the next hitter to give the Lions the lead 2-1. Seneca failed to get any runners on base in the final inning. Hudson also added 2 hits on the night. The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, March 10th at 6 pm vs. Westside at home.
