The Bobcats had another dominant performance Friday night at Coach Mac Field, as the defeated Pickens 15-5 in 6 innings. The Bobcat offense was lead by senior, Furman Wilson, who had 3 hits on the night. Seniors, Petey Ridley and Riley Fletcher, had two hits of their own to add to the attack. Sophomore, Walker Lathrop, added two hits as well, one of which was a scorching 3 run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning. The home run was the first home run of any Bobcat in the 2018 season. After a Matthew Burgess walk, giving him 5 walks on the night, and a Jack Fassino walk, Fletcher laced a double down the right field line to plate Burgess from 2nd and give the Bobcats the run rule victory. The RBI was Fletcher’s, team high, 5th of the night. Senior, Bryson Whaley, got the win on the mound for Seneca to push him to 2-0 on the year. Whaley allowed only one earned run through 4.2 innings of work, before the ball was turned over to fellow senior, Coleman Smith, who allowed 0 runs and struck out 5 in 1.1 innings. The Bobcats will be back in action Tuesday night, March 13, as the host West-Oak in their first region game of the year. The Warriors come to Seneca already 0-2 in region play, after dropping two games to Pendleton last week. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 at Coach Mac Field.
