Finding themselves down to their final 2 outs of the game down 1-0, the Bobcats rallied to score 2 runs and defeat Powdersville 2-1, to advance to the District Championship game. Coleman Smith drew a walk to get things started with one out in the top of the 7th. Walker Lathrop followed by crushing the first pitch of his at bat off the left field wall. Smith was able to score from first, and Lathrop advanced to third on the throw home. Riley Fletcher then laid down a bunt, and Lathrop slid into home safely to give the Bobcats the lead. Bryson Whaley then sat the Patriots down in order in the bottom of the 7th to end the game. On the night, Whaley allowed only 4 hits and 1 unearned run to help lead the Bobcats to victory. Seneca advance to the District Championship game Monday night at Coach Mac Field, where they will take on the winner of an elimination game between Powdersville and Woodruff. The Bobcats will have two chances to win one game and win a District Championship for the 3rd consecutive year. Game time is still yet to be determined.
